Good working knowledge of Windows network and systems administration.
Significant experience with Linux network and systems administration. Thorough understanding of the IP protocol stack from the Internet (Network) layer through the Application layer, including UDP, TCP, HTTP, DNS, and with specific emphasis on routing protocols and SNMP. Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus. Good understanding of relational database concepts, schema design, and SQL. Strong general understanding of SIEM, logging and log aggregation, and SNMP. Handle calls and work with customers on P1 (system down) cases as the scheduled weekend on-call engineer. When necessary, escalate to senior Support engineers or to Engineering.
Perform live troubleshooting on customer systems (in conjunction with the customer. Ensure customer expectations are both properly set and met, through case closure. Recommend changes to resolve customer cases, based on data collected. Reproduce customer environments on in-house lab equipment. Collect and analyze customer configuration, deployment information, network topology, and network traffic. Provide telephone and email support to FortiSIEM customers (with an emphasis on troubleshooting). As one of the engineers on the FortiSIEM Support team, you will provide direct technical support to our customers, helping them solve their business problems using the FortiSIEM security information and event management solution.
